A rant that is needed but should not be.
I am a 17 year old boy who lives in a small town in a boring state. I don’t see the world with my own eyes. Not the real world, I see the world my parents live in. It makes me sick. I can’t stand my parents. They are blind to the world. They sit at their jobs, they make their money and they spend their money.. They live in their worlds because it is easy. I refuse to live an easy life. Not because of them, but because of what they have caused. They are lazy, our parents are lazy. They say kids are lazy, get a job, do your homework. No. Simply no. We have a mess to clean up, there is no time to differentiate your polynomials and conjugate your verbs. The world is a mess. Their world is a mess. It will be ours one day though. I would rather die than live in that shit-hole for the rest of my life. I refuse to be a rich man driving an overpriced car while kids starve to death. I refuse to be an apathetic asshole like my parents. Like our parents. I will do everything I can to fix this world. Even if it kills me. Especially if it kills me. I will die for a world to be proud of. I will die for the Syrian man who was shot today. I will die for the child who died in South Africa from starvation. But I will kill for the man who sits at the top of skyscraper drinking expensive liquor, smoking overpriced cigars and wearing bloody diamonds on his grubby fingers. This world is wrong. Look around and tell me its not.

A Twenty-first Century Treatise
(This is not original, much of this is borrowed from the Dauntless Manifesto from the book Divergent by Veronica Roth, which by the way is a very good dystopian read if your into post-apocalyptic scifi)
Our Dauntless
It is cowardice that has ruined our world. A cowardice that drives vices, a cowardice that causes the powerful to create pain, a cowardice that reeves worlds and creates ruin.
Justice and courage are how to combat this cowardice. justice is to seek out the cowardice of the world and courage is the bravery to stand up to those who wield the wicked weapon that instills fear into the world.
Through justice and courage peace will be created.
The way of Dauntless is bravery, to face all you fear despite bodily, mental or emotional harm. The cost could be great but the rewards could be greater, for the many who oppress those they have power over will have no power over the True Dauntless.
Bravery is not simply fighting. We believe ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one man to stand up for another. We believe in shouting for those who can only whisper and in defending those who cannot defend themselves.
Violence is not bravery, but violence is a weapon used to combat the weapon of cowardice, tyranny.
Standing peacefully and protesting is bravery, fighting a dictator with arms of war for the betterment of a country is bravery and standing up for a man being stepped on by a coward in power is bravery. No act of bravery is to be looked down on, for all are inportant.
It is to be looked down on when there is inaction. Until the world is rid of the oppression of cowardice there is always work to be done. But this is no job, this is duty. This is something every man and woman should do. We do not believe in standing idly and watching the world turn.
We do not believe that any other virtue is more important than bravery.
